April’s Grove | Eastsound, WA

Environmental Works provided complete architectural and landscape architectural services for a new residential community on 1.5 acres including 12 new buildings, 11 residential buildings and 1 common use structure. The April’s Grove campus provides 45 affordable rental apartments, a mix of studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom units. The site design, developed through community charrettes, focused on the preservation of as many mature trees as possible and is located within a quarter mile of center of Eastsound.

COMMUNITY DESIGN

Community engagement included facilitating an information and data gathering session with the community, a hands-on community design workshop focusing and site planning and open space, and gathering neighborhood feedback during a Saturday Farmers Market.
